Overview
Kedarkantha Meadow is a three-day climb from our Sankri base camp. It is a picturesque trip across the Govind Pashu Vihar range, which is noted for its wildflowers, and it also provides a chance, particularly for new trekkers who are beginners and want to develop a feel for trekking. Kedarkantha trekking is a typical year-round walk that is covered in snow even in April, and later in the summer, the meadows are loaded with flowers, providing a magnificent view of nature.
You will see the sacred lake at Judoka Talab and be encircled by the majestic Himalaya’s Kedarkantha snow-capped peaks. Kedarkantha features gorgeous forest-covered landscapes, and you will have a memorable experience in the Valley of God. On top of the Kedarkantha mountain, you will be able to visit the Shiv and Ganpati temples. Book our Kedarkantha trek 5 night 6-day packages from Kolkata to experience the amazing journey.
Day 1
On your first day in the mountains, get up early to begin your drive towards Sankhri and then towards our first campsite, Juda Ka Talab, which is located at an elevation of 9100 feet. We’ll walk 4 kilometres to the campsite for a cooked meal. The trail ascends rapidly into the dense jungle, with a thick carpet of Maple and Pine leaves beneath each step. The journey from Dehradun to Sankri takes 10-11 hours and covers around 210 kilometres, passing through Mussoorie, Data, Naugaon, Purola, Mori, and Natwar.
A pick-up will be organized in Dehradun, and the pick-up sites and times will be coordinated via email prior to your trek booking. The reservation does not include lunch for the day or transportation from Dehradun to Sankri. And from Sankri, we will be in charge of your food and beverages. This configuration makes this Lake one of the best places to spend the evening and set up camp. After lunch, go for a walk around the lake and explore the campsite before it gets dark. On a clear night, it’s a fantastic idea to come out of your tents and gaze for shooting stars; just make sure you’re well-layered because the evenings may get very cold.
Day 2
As the trail continues to the Basecamp, keep an eye out for many shepherd houses in wide meadows. In the midway, one can take a long pause to re-energize the body and enjoy the mesmerizing view of the area’s natural splendour. While approaching Kedarkantha Base, one can see the magnificent vistas of an arc-shaped range of mountains that includes Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag, and England. We enjoy the hot meal given at the camp after reaching the base. The twilight sky is equally stunning, with bright stars and planets. As the night becomes longer, it’s time to go stargazing and take some night photography.
Because it is Summit Day, the day will begin earlier than normal, mostly before the first rays of sunlight strike the sky. This day will also be longer than others because we will descend all the way to Hargaon campground, which is located at an elevation of 8,900 feet. The trail to the peak passes through some oak forest, but the trek is much easier and faster on this trail. Climbing through the forest until it ends brings one considerably closer to the Kedarkantha mountain. As the summit approaches, the walk becomes more difficult, and the trekkers begin climbing the stones above the treeline. Before reaching the peak, this stretch is incredibly exciting and thrilling, with a lot of suspense.
If you love trekking Annapurna Base camp trek is also a nice option for you as it has some beautiful views that will amaze you.
Day 3
Today we will travel to Sankri from where it all began, a 6-kilometre long trek that will take us around 4 hours to complete. After breakfast, we’ll descend via a more well-marked, well-paved, stone-laden path. A route further down the trail leads to a ridge from where you can see the Har khi Dun valley. And by the evening, we’d arrived at Sankri. Small handcrafted products, wooden toys, and wooden home décor items can be purchased here. Local dishes can be sampled here for an unforgettable experience. Stay at the hotel for the night.
Our top goal is always safety and security. As a result, ladies and girls are perfectly secure in accompanying us on our hikes and vacations. Our trek leaders are with the team at all times, and our campsites are secure and safe places to stay. We also have female trek leaders who accompany us on the majority of our hikes. You usually take no more than 15-18 individuals in one session. We believe that larger groups have less enjoyment and coordination, which is why we prefer smaller groups.
